Creating life-changing opportunities

“Our philosophy is based upon providing quality, child-centered, violence-free educational opportunities to as many Nepali children as possible, regardless of age, gender, religion or caste.”

Unlike traditional Nepalese schools, we passionately champion equal opportunities for both girls and boys, creating a nurturing environment that especially values and uplifts children from lower castes and disadvantaged backgrounds. We are grateful that our parents are choosing our school to foster their children’s academic and social growth close to their familial roots and cultural heritage, rather than in distant towns as often used to happen.

What?

Heartland Academy Palpa serves the Palpa community by providing safe, non-violent, practical and interactive educational opportunities for children from nursery through to grade 6. We plan to expand our offerings to grades 7 to 10 over the next few years and become a centre of excellence for teaching and learning for the whole community.

Who?

All local children from Jabgadi and surrounding villages are welcome at our school. Our committed teachers and support staff are from the local community, which provides them with a deep, personal insight into the educational, social, cultural, and psychological needs of our students. This intimate connection enriches our ability to tailor our teaching methods and support to truly empower every child.

How?

The school’s objectives are clear: to offer sustainable educational opportunities and challenge the status quo that sees local education as inadequate.

We provide significant Professional Learning for our teachers as well as resources such as reading books, games and toys for the children to help them engage with their learning.

Committed to transparency

Heartland Academy Palpa is an internationally governed school by CLCR (Centre for Learning and Children’s Rights) Australia and its partners, in collaboration with in-country managerial bodies CLCR Nepal and the Karuna Educational Trust. CLCR has been supporting Heartland Academy in Kathmandu for over 15 years, guiding it from small beginnings to a vibrant, engaged educational community for over 500 students from nursery to Grade 12.

There are no administration fees applied to donations since CLCR is a volunteer organisation. Your donation is fully invested in the development of the educational programs and facilities at Heartland Academy Palpa. We commit to use your funds responsibly and efficiently. In the Financial Year 2023/24, 100% of our total operating expenses supported the education of Heartland Academy Palpa’s students, the training of our teaching staff and the improvement of our facilities.
