Often the future of young Nepalis involves moving to another country to work, often in menial jobs. We aim to help local families recognise and use the opportunities in their own country for well-educated

Breaking down barriers
In rural Nepal, resources are difficult to obtain. Families rely on farming which often does not provide a sustainable income. Add to that the frequent electricity outages and monsoon season where the roads are impassable, and many families find that it’s just too difficult to send their children to school regularly.
Because it’s intermittent, education becomes less of a priority and children’s development of knowledge, skills and understanding suffers. This not only affects the immediate opportunities available to these young girls and boys but also has long-term impacts on their ability to achieve economic independence and participate fully in society.
By addressing these financial barriers, we can help ensure that every child, regardless of gender or family support, has the opportunity to be engaged in school regularly and pursue their dreams.
