Opening doors to opportunity
Growing up in remote, rural Nepal is challenging. With limited access to quality education, healthcare and modern sanitation, many children in these areas struggle to thrive. Girls in particular often have to leave school before Grade 10, perpetuating the historic illiteracy and inequality of females in Nepali society.
The Centre for Learning and Children’s Rights (CLCR) operates Heartland Academy Palpa, which currently provides over 100 children children from nursery through to grade 6 with the opportunity to flourish within a supportive and child-centred learning environment.

What We Do

Changing lives
While celebrating and respecting Nepali culture we focus on providing opportunities for all girls and boys within a nurturing environment, with a special emphasis on educating children from low caste and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Hand-in-hand
We are proud that parents entrust their children’s academic and social development to us, rather than sending them to schools in faraway towns where they are disconnected from their home and families.

Building futures
We provide each student with the best possible learning environment to help them reach their educational, social and emotional potential and contribute positively to the Nepali community.
Who?
All local children from Jabgadi and surrounding villages are welcome at our school. Our committed teachers and support staff are from the local community, which provides them with a deep, personal insight into the educational, social, cultural, and psychological needs of our students. This intimate connection enriches our ability to tailor our teaching methods and support to truly empower every child.
